Hoooolllaaaa!!
Ok I'm super happy the letter made it one time!! Cuz I sent it really late and I didn't think it would make it... I think I sent it like last Tuesday or something. No it was Monday P day now that I think back!!! hmmm your questions ok...
1. If I use a manual I will use the one that Elder Lopez has to learn english. It is super basic and really small but it works. Also I have a couple random vocab sheets by category that I have used. I definitely do not want to teach in a school when I get back. English is kind of lame when you think about it. The vowels are so hard to describe. And I say a word and peope are like uhhhh why is it pronounced like that and I'm just like uhhh no idea hha But its getting better!!!
2. I really am not quite sure about the work. I'm pretty sure white collar jobs, but I couldn't tell you for sure... Like I think 40 percent of Spain or something like that, they all belong to the biggest group in Spain, which is unemployment. It's kind of sad, but that's just how it is here now. The people overall in our ward aren't all that wealthy.
This Sunday was crazy in our ward!! Sooo only 23 people showed up to church. Including 2 missionaries and 1 investigator that I'll talk about later. 20 members including kids, try having a fast and testimony meeting like that!! It was rough!! I think every single adult and young men/women got up but like 1 or 2. It was craziness. It was our stakes turn to go to the temple, so like all our leadership and people went to Madrid this weekend. That was fun!! Elders quorum was like 4 people hahaha So different here!! Oh and it was Carnaval(giant party) saturday night so more people were missing too hahaa-
3. There are 3 areas of gran canaria. Vecindario, and las palamas and us. Las palamas is north and we can get there by bus in like 25 minutes more or less, and I have no clue how far for vecindarioo because I have never been!! But I was just up in las palmas today to play soccer with all the elders on the island it was fun!! I scored a few times and was able to use my new shoes :) I was also up there on wednesday for mission tour. Basically it's like a big leader or general authority comes to every zone in the mission and talks with the missionaries and stuff. So we had Elder Texeira(Area President of Europe) and he came to visit us along with the Jacksons!! It was super good and we like literally had a meeting sitting down from 9am until 2:30 ish! Craziness I didn't know I could sit so long!! But it was really good and he taught us a lot and he spoke mostly in english so I didn't have to try to understand :) Then afterwards we had like a big feast with all the missionaries from all the islands!! Some came by boat and others by plane and it was fun having everyone together!! A buddy of mine has been here since the beginning of his mission and he is off in like timbuktoo inan island called lanzarote with no other missionaries. They have to do their meetings by video call haha Pretty rough!!!
4. hmmm I have no clue!! SPANISH!!! Is that too obvious?? No but I love all the things I have learned about Christ and his life during my mission. I haven't mentioned this at all but I started Jesus the Christ from the front cover a little while back and now I'm almost done with that crazy 800 something page book! I love it!! I read it every day like before I go to bed and during mediodia!! There are so many little insights in there especially to culturaly stuff in the bible that we have no clue about. Like when he says its harder for a rich man to enter heaven than a camel into a eye of a needle. He didn't mean like the needle we sew with. It's like a term from then for the gate to enter in the city like for a normal person, that would be extremely hard for a camel to enter, but to do it you would have to unload everything on the camel just like someone rich and prideful would have to unload all of their pride and problems to enter into the kigdom of heaven. Lots of interesting stuff like that that are just all over!! Super cool huh?? Well at least for me haha I dont have other sources of worldy entertainment so I read A LOT!!
Oh I'm getting better at soccer too!! I play a lot in the house and our downstairs neighbors might hate me but its not like we stay up very late haha
5. Hardly any.. All the tourists are in las palmas and vecindario, so its super nice for us anyone we talk to on the street is like almost a guarantee that they are from here because it is super small!! Hmmm whats a good comparison. Its like missionaries in del mar or downtown or something that would have lots of tourists, and to compare I'm in something like ramona or escondido... Maybe a tourist or too but it would be slightly odd... So ya!!!
6. Nothing you know im not all that big on like things that I have that I'm super attached to that I could have here. The closest thing I could think of is my rugby ball, but if Justin uses it don't worry about it!! Other than that the only thing I miss from home is people! You four and people from school and from church and obviously Kendal too a lot!! Buttttt cant really send people in packages haha When is mothers day again?? I dont remember!!
Hmmmm Well i think i ended up talking about practically everything in my answers. Our awesome investigator of the week is Lali. She is from here and is starting to come to church!! The first investigator in church in telde in like 3 months I think!! So that is awesome! And we are able to visit her like anytime to teach. She used to be a testigo but had bad experiences with other churches so now she has her BoM and is enjoying reading it!!! :)
Sounds like you guys had a good week!! yay for rain! rain is a good thing!! Oh no now I'm going to be singing country for like an hour blahh haha Ok so my adress... de hecho I'm gonna put it in a seperate email because Kendal wants it too. Hope you have a great week!!! I Love You!!!!
