Hey Momma!!!
So this week was super bomb! Sorry I barely can tell you anything about it since I´m hurrying to write and stuff!! But it has been a miracle week :) We found so many new people and tons of people came to church and it was all just super awesome!!! We found this one family from nigeria, and they accepted the message and like loved it and said they want to be baptised soon once they learn more about the book of mormon and start reading it a little more.
It was nice and sunny and that was super awesome! It felt like people wanted to talk to us more now that they didn't have to stand in the rain and like ya we just got to know a ton of people! My brain is drawing a blank on all the names, but it was awesome!
I just started teaching people from the second I met them and trying to give them little pieces of the góspel and stuff like that, thinking that if they feel the spirit they will want to meet with us again, and it has really worked :) Hmm what else.
Oh my companion is super nice! I really like the guy! We are pretty much polar opposites, but that's ok and we are out here working hard :) So ya he is from like palm springs, but then moved out to montana and did high school out there and then left on his mission. He´s super Young! like if he isn't younger than kara, he was at least in her grade in high school haha But it's a lot of fun! He´s kind of quiet, and I'm teaching him a little bit of spanish, but he really is great and fearless at stopping people, which is something I look up to a lot! When I only had 5 months in the mission I was terrified to stop people and just try to teach them because my spanish was terrible and I didn't want to look stupid, but he does it and he gets really good results!! So thats cool :)
What else... Sorry like despite it being an awesome week I don't know what to share haha Oh I found a mexican yesterday! That was pretty awesome it was time to go home and I had pretty much checked out mentally as I was walking home, but I felt like contacting this last guy and it turns out that even though he looks spaniard, he is from Mexico City!! I was so excited, and I told him I have mexican family and stuff like that :)
Sooo let's see, Sincé it has been a week of finding and stuff like that I had the opportunity to really go in depth and teach a lot about the restoration. It was great! I love the restoration, and I think it is my favorite thing to teach about and the more I teach it the more it makes sense! Like God has always called prophets, and he always will. In the book of Ephesians I think he talks about how the church is established on the base of prophets and apostles, and how we will have them until we come to a unity of faith and we become perfect men. I love sharing that with people, because like obviously we can look around and see that there isn't a whole ton of unity in the faith, as we have thousands of Christian churches, and clearly by the way the world is going we are nowhere near becoming perfect men so therefore prophets are necesary and will be until the second coming
Some see the story of Joseph Smith as crazy, but really God has always called prophets from their youth, and raised them up to be men of God, in some form or another he has always appeared to them, and he has never left them alone or without proof of their divine calling. The proof we have been given of the prophet Joseph Smith is the book of mormon, and by reading it we have the promise that if we pray with a sincere heart God will manifest the truth of it unto us by the power of the holy Ghost :) It really is an amazing message, but it's so simple! I've talked to so many people this week who try to deflect religión away by saying they believe in science or something else, but its so easy to see that they go hand in hand. Science is based off of tests and experiments where we try something out, and can see the results. Even though its a spiritual test rather than a physical test, we do the same thing when we read the book of mormon and take Moroni´s invitation and pray. So ya, i love the restoration, and i love sharing it with people :) I can't count the number of times I told the Joseph Smith story this past week, but even if nobody else was affected by it, I was, and I can tell my testimony has been strengthened :
I hope you have a great week mom, and I hope that everything goes well with work, and church and everything else you have going on! I love you!! Sorry I kind of flaked on details this week, but I'll try and give you more along with pictures next time! hasta Luego!!
